At a virtual meeting, the Glenarden City Council adopted its meeting agenda by unanimous consent and administered oaths to five volunteers appointed to the City of Glenarden Board of Elections.
Council President Curtis declared the agenda adopted by unanimous consent after a motion to adopt the agenda was moved and seconded; no roll-call vote was recorded. The council then opened the floor for citizens' comments on pending legislation and, finding none, proceeded to the installation of election board members.
The clerk administered the oath of office to five volunteers who will serve on the city’s Board of Elections ahead of the 2025 election, asking them to repeat language committing to "support the Constitution of the United States and the laws of the state of Maryland." The volunteers recorded on the meeting were Ava Turner; Loletta L. Green; Patricia Dennis; Susan Rhodes; and Lolly Chiguri. Mayor Mary Cross and other council members thanked the volunteers for stepping forward to support the city’s upcoming election.
The meeting included routine roll call at the start and brief technical difficulties as participants joined by video. With the installation complete, Council President Curtis adjourned the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
Votes at a glance: The agenda adoption was handled by a motion and second and approved by unanimous consent; no separate roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
