Supervisors table Whispering Canyon Phase 11 final plat after resident safety, traffic and process concerns

The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors on March 5 voted to table the final-plat approval of Whispering Canyon Phase 11 — a proposed subdivision of 53 single‑family lots on roughly 61 acres — until its April 2 meeting so staff and applicants can answer outstanding questions about traffic, slope setbacks and neighborhood communications.

Becca Sierrakis, a planner in Development Services, told the board the application is a continuation of a planned-area development (PAD) that was originally approved in 2001. Phase 11 would add 53 lots, bringing the PAD total closer to its approved maximum of 400 lots; the PAD already includes multiple prior phases and centralized water and wastewater provided by Inscription Canyon water and sanitary districts.
