Supervisors rezone Wyndon parcel to allow replacement manufactured home

La Paz County supervisors voted to rezone a parcel at 70880 Furr Avenue in Wyndon from C‑2 (general commercial) to MHS (manufactured home single-family) to allow the placement of a replacement manufactured home.
Community Development staff Tiffany Wyckoff told the board the property had a manufactured home that the current owners began to demolish without a demolition permit but subsequently came into compliance by obtaining the required permit and paperwork. The rezoning request had been unanimously recommended for approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission on Feb. 6, 2025.
Applicant Brian Mendoza spoke during the public hearing and confirmed the owners had complied with the county’s inspection and permitting requests. “We complied on the demolish and do all the paperwork,” Mendoza said. After no other public comment, the board closed the hearing, moved to act on the zoning change and approved the rezoning by voice vote.
Tiffany Wyckoff confirmed the action before the board was a rezone (Z2025‑01) rather than a conditional use permit; the board’s approval allows the owners to place a new manufactured home on the parcel in compliance with county codes.
