Kenston Local holds executive session on personnel; no public action announced

Kenston Local called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m. and voted to move into an executive session to consider the employment, dismissal or discipline of a public employee or official and to investigate charges or complaints against a public employee, official or licensee. The governing body reconvened at 7:13 p.m., stated no public action would be taken, and adjourned.

The motion to enter executive session read, in part, “for the purpose of considering the employment, dismissal, or discipline of a public employee or official, or the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, or licensee.” A meeting participant said, “I can make that motion.” Another participant responded, “Second. Second from Jim.”

At roll call in support of moving into executive session, multiple members answered in the affirmative. One member said, “I don’t think I can vote on this. I can’t be… sustain.” The presiding participant stated when the board exited the executive session the meeting would be adjourned and that “No action will be taken by this board at that time.” The meeting reconvened at 7:13 p.m., and the membership moved and seconded to adjourn.
