Walton County’s Technical Review Committee on March 19, 2025 conditionally approved a request to install a 190-foot telecommunications tower and related equipment at 866 Woodlawn Road, pending resubmittal and final planning materials.
The minor development application (MIN24-000078), submitted by TeleCAD Wireless Site Design on behalf of VBBTS 2 LLC (Vertical Bridge/T-Mobile), proposes a 190-foot tower and equipment on approximately 8.97 acres in the general agricultural zoning district in District 1. Planning reviewer Bob said the applicant had been cooperative and that the outstanding items were largely limited to a boundary survey and some planning comments.
TeleCAD agent Olivia Haines said the team was preparing resubmittal documents and had engaged with the Air Force regarding its review. Bob said the Air Force had recommended approval with conditions and that fall-radius and related tall-structure details would be addressed in the resubmittal. A public attendee indicated interest but did not raise a substantive objection on the record.
The TRC voted to conditionally approve the tower subject to the applicant providing a boundary survey and addressing the remaining planning comments and Air Force requirements. Staff noted that once the resubmittal satisfactorily addresses reviewer comments the project will proceed through the standard county permitting steps.
