Commission staff described an inquiry received Feb. 26 about 4386 High Street (identified as the Jefferson Borden house), a large Greek Revival with a temple front that was reportedly moved to its present location. Staff said the High Street property is in the Highlands National Register District and that there are no local design restrictions to require specific window treatments, "aside from there being a demolition delay on any part of the building, in whole or part," staff said.
A March 4 inquiry about 146 Franklin Street asked about the property’s historic significance. Staff provided a MassHistorical (MACRIS) file showing the property is part of the Lower Highlands National Register District and noted the demolition-delay protection applies.
