Steep Brook BioReserve Form B work nearly complete; presentation expected summer

Staff said roughly 98% of the field work has been finished and that researchers are compiling historical background to strengthen the significance statements for the sites discovered. "The Steep Brook area is completed...we're probably looking at a June, probably July, presentation to us here," staff said.
A Community Preservation Committee (CPC) grant originally approved in fiscal 2022 remains open for project payment through September 2025; staff said they provided an updated letter to CPC and that the project should be completed in time for the remaining grant period.
Why it matters: Form B documentation and the resulting presentation will add to the historical record for Steep Brook and guide nominations or preservation planning. The CPC funding supports the project closing and payment of final invoices.
