Committee delays decision on 201 exception for South Greeley property, requests developer appear
Summary

The committee voted to postpone consideration of a resolution granting an exception to the "201" agreement for property located south of High Plains Road and west of South Greeley Highway until the next council meeting, citing unanswered questions and the absence of the applicant.
Brandon Gilchrist of the Planning and Development Department described the request as a 201 exception related to sewer service for a development where the nearest city sewer main is about a mile away, and said a lift station would likely be required to reach the city sewer. "It would have to travel uphill and approximately about a mile which would require a lift station," said Charles Bloomfield, the public director, explaining why the applicant seeks the exception rather than immediate annexation and city sewer connection.
Committee members asked whether the property is contiguous to city limits and whether there is a plan or date for annexation; staff said the parcel is adjacent on its eastern boundary but that the applicant had previously held an outside user agreement that is no longer moving forward. Planning staff recommended postponement to allow the applicant or a representative to answer outstanding questions about annexation timing and ownership history.
Council member Doctor Aldridge moved to postpone the resolution until the next council meeting; the motion was seconded and carried. The committee recorded a verbal "aye" and the item will return for further consideration with the applicant present.
