Lansing — The Michigan House passed two bills March 13 that extend a sales- and use-tax exemption for firearm safety devices through the end of 2025.
Representative Andrew Price, sponsor of the package, told the House the bills would renew an exemption that previously covered items such as gun safes, lock boxes and trigger locks. “This is a straightforward, common-sense package,” Price said, adding the exemption lowers the cost barrier for people who take “an extra step to keep their weapons secure.”
