The House Oversight Subcommittee on Child Welfare System on Jan. 30 voted to adopt a regular meeting day and time: Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. in Room 308 of the House Office Building.
The motion to adopt the schedule was offered by Representative Angela Regas, vice chair of the subcommittee, and carried on a recorded voice vote. Representative Luke Meerman, chair of the subcommittee, confirmed a quorum of five members before the vote.
The vote was 5-0 in favor; no members were recorded as voting no or abstaining. The subcommittee also indicated it will follow the uniform committee rules referenced in Chapter 4 of the House rules adopted on the House floor.
The schedule will govern planning for oversight hearings and invited testimony during the 2025 legislative session. With a regular meeting slot established, members said they expect to use the time for presentations, data reviews and stakeholder testimony on child welfare topics.
There was no additional formal action attached to the motion.
