City of Taylor presents water-line project; commission forms scoring committee for small city grant

Representatives from the City of Taylor presented a request to have their 2025 Small City Infrastructure grant application scored by the Stark County commission. Lisa (Taylor auditor) described the project as an upgrade to the city’s water lines to connect to a nearby Southwest Water tower; city engineer Anthony Sitnes was available by phone to answer technical questions.
Taylor described recent work that connected the town’s system to the regional tower and added four functional fire hydrants on Second Street. The city requested only the 2025 payment if the county decides to recommend the application.
Commissioners agreed to form a small scoring committee (two commissioners who had worked on the framework and scoring previously) to evaluate Taylor’s application and to present scores and a recommendation at the February regular meeting. The commission also set a deadline of Monday, Jan. 27 for Richardson’s (another applicant referenced) submittal; applications received by that date will be reviewed by the committee for consideration in February.
