County staff reviewed price lines for 16-gauge and 24-inch galvanized corrugated metal pipe and highlighted that overall prices were down from last year; the staff recommendation was to award the bid to TrueNorth. Commissioners moved and approved the award by voice vote.
Staff noted sample unit prices during the presentation: 16-gauge, 18-inch galvanized corrugated metal pipe at about $24 per unit and a 24-inch, 16-gauge band at $86.40 per unit; staff also pointed out that last year’s prices were roughly 50 cents to several dollars higher. The county has historically received only one bidder for this annual package in recent years and recommended awarding to TrueNorth to ensure materials are available for road crews.
Motion and outcome: Commissioner Strand moved to accept the TrueNorth bid; Commissioner Perry seconded. The motion carried by voice vote.
