The Riverton City Council awarded the 2025 pavement preservation (slurry-seal) contract to Asphalt Preservation LLC for $396,200.
Public Works staff said the city received one responsive bid; another bid arrived late and was not considered. Staff recommended awarding the project to Asphalt Preservation LLC, which was the responsive bidder. The 2025 project scope is larger than 2024’s work (staff said last year the city covered about 116,000 square yards; this year’s plan calls for roughly 168,000 square yards).
Councilman Mike Bailey asked about cost per square yard and whether the contractor would accept additional work at the same rate if funding allowed; staff said negotiations with the single responsive bidder remain possible and that pricing could be negotiated if the council chooses to expand scope depending on available funds.
The council approved the bid award by voice vote.
