Organizer Tricia Canty told the board the recommended initial buy is 50 brackets, which the vendor quoted at $64.50 each (about $3,225). Printing costs were estimated at roughly $41.50 per banner; Canty said she hoped to keep the per-family charge to about $20 and had already raised roughly $679 in donations toward the project.
Board members and the organizer discussed logistics including installation by the Highway Department, timing for ordering and printing, and how the banners would coexist with existing flags on poles. Canty said banners would likely be displayed about two months at the end of the school year and that parents unable to afford the full cost could request assistance.
On a motion and second the board authorized up to $3,600 for brackets and associated start-up costs to be charged to the town events line; staff instructed Canty to submit invoices to the town for payment and to proceed with outreach through the high school.
