Lincoln County commissioners adopt assistance guideline amendments, approve permits and vehicle tax exemptions

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 2025-06 on March 17, 2025, approving amendments to the countyGeneral Assistance and Medical Assistance guidelines and took a series of routine administrative actions, including approving a special designated liquor permit, several motor-vehicle tax exemptions and routine minutes and fee reports.

The resolution amending the General Assistance and Medical Assistance guidelines was presented from the board packet and adopted by roll call vote as Resolution No. 2025-06. Commissioners did not record any formal objections during the vote as shown in the meeting roll call.

Also on the consent-like portion of the agenda the board: - Approved the minutes of the March 10, 2025 Board of Commissioners meeting and the Lincoln County Board of Equalization minutes of March 10, 2025 by motion and roll call. - Received and ordered filed a register of deeds fee report in the amount of $24,655.21. - Approved a special designated liquor permit submitted by Charm Market for a reception at Good Times Gatherings on May 31, 2025. The exemptions approved included: - North Platte Catholic Schools: one 2026 Bluebird school bus for educational purposes. - North Platte Baptist Church (North Platte): a 2009 model bus used to transport congregation members who lack rides. - BSL North Platte Court LLC: multiple vehicles (listed in packet as model years 2005 Dodge Ram 2500; 2010 Ford Cutaway van; 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan; 2018 Chevrolet Impala; 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan) used in daily operations and resident transportation for a skilled nursing facility. - New Life Assembly (601 E. Francis St., North Platte): a 2012 Chrysler van used for transportation for church activities. - American National Red Cross: multiple vehicles (including a 2021 Ram ProMaster 3500 high-top, 2021 and 2022 Ford Transit Connect vans and a 2013 Dodge Caravan) used to transport employees and supplies to blood drives.

Motions to approve these exemptions were moved and seconded and carried by roll call; the treasurerSherry Newton is recorded in the packet as recommending approval of those applications.

On an agenda item filed as a tort claim submitted by JNR Adjustment Company on behalf of CenturyLink for alleged property damage on West Nelson Road, the board discussed the claim but ultimately took no action at the meeting. A motion to forward the claim to the countyinsurance company was made and then withdrawn after legal counsel advised that taking board action could start a statutory clock; staff said supporting photos would be forwarded when available.
