The Lawrenceburg Board of Works voted on March 17 to appoint seasonal pool managers and assistants, delegate hiring of remaining seasonal staff, advertise for a procurement specialist, and approve the annual interlocal agreement with Lawrenceburg Township for fire protection.
Board President Kelly Millan opened the Board of Works portion of the meeting and heard a presentation from a staff member identified in the record as Miss Felix, who asked the board to approve a pool manager and assistant managers and to allow staff to complete hiring of lifeguards, cashiers and other seasonal positions. For pool manager the board approved the recommendation of Dolores Abbott; the board also approved recommending two assistant managers, Brandon Abden and Angela Bryant. The board approved a motion delegating to the mayor and the pool managers the authority to complete hiring of the remaining seasonal help without returning each hire to the board.
The board also approved advertising for a procurement specialist position. Staff said the job description was included in board packets and that the position could be posted as early as the following day and would typically remain open for about two weeks.
Finally, the board approved the annual interlocal agreement between the city and Lawrenceburg Township for fire protection services. City attorney Del Weldon described the agreement as the yearly arrangement under which the township pays $26,000 in two installments for fire protection covering the coming year (the presenter confirmed the payment is for 2025).
All four items were approved by voice vote; the record shows “all in favor” and motions carried. The transcript records no roll-call tallies for these motions and does not identify individual movers and seconders by name in the minutes for each motion.
The board did not discuss additional fiscal or operational details for the pool hires beyond the hiring delegation, nor did it amend the interlocal payment amount or schedule at the meeting.
