Park County approves full retail liquor license for Rimrock Dude Ranch

Park County commissioners approved a full retail liquor license for Rimrock Dude Ranch at 2728 North Fork Highway in Cody during a public hearing.
County clerk’s office second deputy Carrie Smith presented the application and said the business applied on Feb. 24 and that the state has approved the application. The ranch applied for a guest-ranch designation, which allows alcohol to be served anywhere on the property provided it meets state criteria.
Clerk’s office staff said the license will be issued to the ranch entity and that the owner already holds a separate license for a restaurant across the road; state law permits two licenses to be owned by distinct entities even if the same person owns both. With this approval Park County will have 22 full retail liquor licenses, with two remaining available under county limits; a county renewal in July will shift some licenses into city jurisdiction because of annexation.
No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing. Commissioners closed the public hearing and approved the license by voice vote.
What happens next: The ranch will hold its own full retail license (guest-ranch designation) separate from the owner’s other restaurant license and must remain in compliance with state liquor regulations and any county requirements.
