Dunn County actions: agenda, minutes, permits, personnel and pay changes approved

Dunn County commissioners completed a series of routine approvals and personnel actions during the meeting, including minutes and agenda approval, a utility permit, vacation-hour handling for interim employees and a pay adjustment for the interim road superintendent.

Agenda and minutes - The commission unanimously approved the meeting agenda after a motion by Commissioner Clayman and a second by Commissioner Olsen. The December 21 minutes were approved following a motion by Commissioner Felton and a second by Commissioner Olsen.

Utility permit - The commission approved a utility permit for Mackenzie Electric to install an underground crossing under Golf Course Road (recorded motion by Commissioner Helton, second by Commissioner Cleeman). The permit was approved by voice vote.

Vacation-hours payout or carryover - Two employees were given the option either to be paid out for excess vacation hours or to carry those hours into 2025. Motion by Commissioner Pelton, second by Commissioner Heizer; action approved by voice vote.

Interim road superintendent pay increase - Terry Schwarzenberger was appointed interim road superintendent; the commission approved an hourly wage adjustment to $44.40 per hour (with a step or related 25 rate noted as $46.83). Commissioner Heizer moved the pay increase and Commissioner Klayman seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.

These items were handled largely by voice vote and did not generate extended debate. Officials said the county would proceed with advertising and bid schedules for gravel crushing and other annual services in the coming weeks.
