GROSSE ILE, Mich. — The Grosse Ile Police Commission on March 18 approved the immediate promotion of Alfred Carico to the rank of sergeant and voted to establish an eligibility list to fill the vacancy created by an officer resignation.
Carico received the commission's unanimous approval after a department presentation highlighting his training, leadership and "education, professionalism, and leadership," which the chief said showed he "has earned the respect of his fellow officers." Carico received his sergeant badge and a certificate at the meeting.
