A representative from the Green River Chamber and Visitor Center provided the council with an update on the chamber's spring and summer activities, including community engagement and upcoming events.
The chamber representative (identified in the meeting as Lisa) said the chamber hosted a community panel for school district superintendent candidates and distributed a year-in-review packet to councilmembers. The chamber announced an awards luncheon in April, an expanded cleanup week to replace a single cleanup day, a trails day in June run by the local bike club, and an expanded river festival race schedule that now includes a 5K in addition to the half and full marathon and 10K; organizers are also adding chipped bib timing for races.
The chamber is also launching a leadership roundtable starting March 25 at the Visitor Center and partnering with a financial adviser to distribute 300 free copies of a business-development book as part of a potential four-part series.
Councilmembers thanked the chamber for its work; no formal council action was taken on the update.
