Mobile GR outlines parking portfolio, revenues and multiyear rate framework

Grand Rapids’ Mobile GR Commission learned details of the city’s parking operations and a multi-year market framework during its March 6 meeting. Jennifer Casper, assistant director for Mobile GR, detailed the department’s asset portfolio, enforcement statistics, FY24 parking fund revenues and upcoming facility repairs and accessibility projects.
Casper told commissioners that the department operates nine city-owned gated parking ramps totaling about 4,300 spaces, and also operates several privately owned ramps and lots under operations-only agreements. On-street parking now uses pay-by-plate pay stations and totals roughly 3,200 paid spaces, she said. “We have 9 city owned parking ramps that are gated. That's a total of 4,300 parking spaces,” Casper said.
