Ogden City honors Ogden-Weber Community Action Partnership on 60th anniversary; open house announced

The Ogden City Council and mayor recognized Ogden-Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP) on March 18 for 60 years of community service since the agency's establishment on March 26, 1965.
A city representative read the recognition and thanked the nonprofit for launching and supporting programs such as Head Start, Early Head Start, Meals on Wheels and rental-assistance efforts during the COVID-19 response. "Our agency has been here for 60 years committed to helping people changing lives," an OWCAP representative said during remarks.
The agency announced a public open house scheduled for Friday, March 28 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the old Jefferson School, which the presenter said was built in 1970. The representative invited the public and noted the event will include refreshments and an opportunity to tour the facility.
Council members and the mayor praised the agency's partnerships with community groups and its family- and education-focused programs. No formal council action was taken on the recognition.
