Commission staff said the Collier Engineering survey will allow remote review of reported problems and create a documented baseline of pavement and roadside assets. “They drive all of our roads, and they index the pavement, the markings, and the signs, and guardrails,” the assistant superintendent told the commission. The staff member added the county had tried to secure grant funding and would take the cost from fund balance after the denial.
The commission approved the amendment by voice vote after a motion; the meeting record shows no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript. Commissioners also handled a set of routine administrative items during the meeting.
