The Evanston City Council took the following actions at its Feb. 18 meeting.
- Agenda: Approved the meeting agenda by voice vote (motion and second recorded; council announced "aye").
- Warrants/Bills: Approved the warrant register (motion moved and seconded; voice vote recorded as "aye").
- Revenue & Expenditure Report (October): Approved by motion and voice vote.
- Board appointments: Approved multiple appointments by motion and second. Appointees listed by the council were Don Larson (joint powers board, three-year term to January 2028), Tiffany Sager and Jared Barnes (Historic Preservation Commission, three-year terms to January 2028), Gordon Robinson, Dwayne Jacobson and Henry Schmidt (Urban Systems Board, two-year terms to January 2027), and Trudy Lim (Revolving Loan Fund Board, three-year term to January 2028). The council approved the slate by voice vote.
- Consent agenda: Approved a limited malt-beverage permit for Passanelli of Arts Inc. for a Friday and Saturday in March. Council member Sellers recused himself from that item because his wife serves on the applicant's board; the remainder of the council approved the permit by voice vote.
- Ordinance 25-01 (rezoning of 196 Bear River Drive): Approved on third and final reading (motion by Council member Sellers; second by Council member Welling; mayor declared ordinance approved).
- Resolution 25-11 (IGES geotechnical agreement for Recreation Center): Approved (motion by Council member Perk; second by Council member Schmidt; voice vote in favor). The proposal amount stated in discussion was $7,500.
- Resolution 25-12 (master-plan amendment to designate the 196 Bear River Drive parcel as highway business): Approved (motion and second; voice vote in favor).
