County staff explained the $10,000 donation was made in February 2023 for the Deweyville Community Park but was not re‑budgeted for 2025; staff said the funds are not tax dollars and instead need to be moved into the correct line item. County attorneys and the auditor advised caution and requested additional review of the donor funds’ coding and whether the amount remains in the county general fund cash flow. The judge asked that the auditor and relevant staff review the donation and report back with the correct accounting and a recommended amendment.
Commissioner Powell moved to table the item so Miss Moore (auditor) and staff could review; Commissioner White seconded the motion. The court voted to table the amendment and asked staff to return with the corrected fund coding and recommendations for expenditure.
