Committee approves web-based fleet inventory upgrade with vendor Fastener Asset Solutions

Committee members approved Ordinance 2392025 authorizing a requirements contract with Fastener Asset Solutions to replace the city’s aging, client-based fleet and parts inventory system with a web-based platform.
The administration said the existing vendor relationship has stretched more than a decade and the vendor transitioned its product from a desktop client to a cloud/web version. The scope includes data migration, setup and two years of annual fees and support. Staff estimated the total cost around $300,000; Councilman Casey proposed an amendment to specify a "not to exceed $300,000" cap in Section 3, which the committee approved. Administration said if costs exceed that cap, they will return to council.
The ordinance passed as amended. The administration said the vendor has supported the city’s fleet operations for roughly 15–20 years and the new cloud version is the current industry standard for data and parts management.
