Board approves multiple personnel actions including creation of a district school‑police position; several items tabled to next meeting

At the end of the meeting the board voted on personnel motions that were presented in the superintendent’s packet, approving a bundle of hires, resignations and coach appointments and tabling two administrative items for later consideration.

Superintendent Dr. Miller read 20 personnel items into the record. The board approved a group motion to accept personnel items 1, 4–12 and 15–18; the motions were moved by Miss Burrows and seconded by Miss Cardillo and carried on a voice vote. The approved items included the superintendent’s recommendation to create a districtwide school police officer position to replace the district’s former school resource officer role, a series of paraeducator and substitute hires, a long‑term substitute appointment and multiple coach and volunteer coach approvals. Resignations and retirements on the personnel list were also accepted as listed.

The board voted to table personnel items 2 and 3 (job title/description for an administrator and an organizational chart) until next week; the motion to table was moved by Tom and seconded by Len and carried by voice vote. Two other placeholder items that had been listed for future hire were also deferred to the next meeting.

Board members then approved three activity‑trip and conference items under Education (state leadership conference travel for HOSA, TSA, and FBLA) as presented earlier in the packet.

No roll‑call vote was recorded in the public transcript for the personnel motions; the meeting minutes will record the formal vote tally. The board chair declared the motions carried after the voice votes.
