Commissioners confirmed a windows workshop is being scheduled and that June 14 (Flag Day) was the tentative date discussed. They discussed logistics, locations and expected audience size: The Exchange building can accommodate roughly 50 people, while other venues such as the Health Foundation facility or the Civic Center can hold about 100, depending on table setup.
The outreach plan includes printed and online materials, local points of contact for homeowner questions, and use of historic photographs (provided by the county museum) in poster displays. The commission said it will coordinate advertising with the city media staff and that the Sunflower Fair, while listed among preservation accomplishments, typically has not counted toward the two required CLG outreach events.
Commissioners also discussed how outreach can introduce homeowners of historic but not locally designated properties to designation pathways and how demonstration programs might help build cases for future local districting.
Next steps were to confirm the tentative June date, finalize venue availability, coordinate with the Indiana Department of Transportation contact for technical input, and pair educational materials with online information on the city website.
