The Vigo County Board of Commissioners on March 18, 2025, approved two sets of meeting minutes, the payroll docket and the claims docket, and authorized the county surveyor's contract to continue with the same terms under a new vendor name.
The board approved: the minutes from the commissioners' meeting of March 11, 2025, and a separate set of minutes from a March 11 rezoning hearing; the payroll docket for March 7–14, 2025, totaling $1,397,682.56; and the claims docket for March 7–14, 2025, totaling $951,125.54. The board also approved the surveyor services contract that staff said is the same agreement used for years, with Fishbeck listed as the successor to a prior line of service.
Those items were moved and seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting. Audio shows the board recorded multiple “Aye” responses for each motion. County staff presented the payroll and claims amounts during the meeting and requested formal approval.
The surveyor’s contract was presented by Bruce Allen of the surveyor’s office, who said, “It’s the exact same contract we’ve had for years. It’s just, Fishbeck has bought out a line, and it’s for the surveyor services.” A motion to approve that contract was made and seconded and approved by voice vote.
No roll-call tallies with member names were recorded in the transcript; votes were reflected as unanimous voice approvals in the meeting audio. No further conditions, amendments or follow-up reporting requirements were recorded for these items.
Ending: The approvals closed the consent portion of the agenda and the meeting proceeded to scheduled presentations and public comment.
