Court sets base bids for two Humvees and agrees to sealed-bid sale of trailer

The court discussed previous research into market value and the vehicles’ condition; staff said the Humvees had been donated to the sheriff’s office and later transferred to the county, and that titles are in hand. Road staff and others noted some vehicles may not run and could require buyer investment to restore.
Magistrates and staff debated whether to set a $1,000, $2,500 or no base; the court settled on $2,000 for each Humvee and no base for the trailer. The court directed staff to publish a sealed-bid notice in the local newspaper (two weeks recommended) and to post on the county’s Facebook page. Bids will be received and the results placed on the April 9 agenda for acceptance or further action.
Officials said the Humvees and trailer are located behind the Justice Center and that staff will include the trailer with one of the Humvees in the advertisement unless the court decides otherwise.
