The South Russell Village Architecture Review Board approved ARB Case 25-09 on March 18, 2025, authorizing two decorative street signs mounted on vinyl posts and a single-panel homeowners association sign for Sugarbush Club at Sugarbush Lane.
Board members discussed materials, mounting details and a typographical spacing issue before voting to approve the application. The applicant was represented by Easy Sign Holdings; the board noted that the sign copy shown in submitted drawings included an extra space in "Sugarbush" that will be corrected before fabrication.
The board reviewed technical details provided by the applicant. Traffic-control signs will use standard MUTCD-style reflective sheeting intended for regulatory signage. The HOA/development identification sign will be fabricated from reflective aluminum composite material (ACM) with a frosted, diamond-type reflective finish; the panel is described in the submission as a quarter-inch aluminum sandwich ("40 aluminum panel"). Mounting will use bolts through a bracket into wood placed inside the decorative vinyl posts, and the applicant said it plans to install a small stabilizing bracket at the base of the posts to reduce movement and wind-related damage.
Board members raised visibility and durability concerns and confirmed the applicant would adjust the sign copy and provide a sturdier bracket detail once a panel is available for mock-up. The board approved the design and mounting method by voice vote.
Earlier in the meeting the board also approved the minutes of its Feb. 18, 2025, meeting.
No budget, permit conditions, or exact sign dimensions were provided in the discussion; those details were not specified during the meeting. The application file is listed on the agenda as ARB Case 25-09, owner Sugarbush Club, LLC, presented by Easy Sign Holdings.
