Fair & Expo seeks board OK to add county logo to new Strength & Conditioning building signage

Doug Chase, speaking for Fair & Expo, asked the Board of County Commissioners to approve use of the Spokane County logo alongside Fair & Expo and Spokane Indians logos on a newly renovated Strength & Conditioning building at Expo grounds.

Chase said the signage would follow existing style guidelines, use professional materials consistent with stadium signage and was included in the project’s construction budget. He said the intent is to make county ownership visible to visitors: “Our first opportunity at trying to change that and, incorporate that,” he told the board.

The county logo policy requires equal‑partner logos to appear in alphabetical order and at similar sizes unless the board grants an exception. Chase asked commissioners for that exception on the grounds that the county’s contribution and ownership justifies prominent county branding; he emphasized he would return for approval if the county logo were to be used in other locations beyond the one building.

Commissioners signaled support and asked staff to ensure consistency with the county brand and to keep future logo placements returning to the board for approval.
