Lake County Animal Care and Control staff introduced Sugar, a 4-month-old, 10-pound dog, as the shelter’s “Pet of the Week.” Sugar arrived at the shelter and was found, along with her brother, to have ringworm and later was diagnosed with giardia. Staff said both dogs received treatment and have been medically cleared by the shelter veterinarian for adoption. Sugar’s brother has already been adopted.
