The committee on June 6 endorsed by acclamation an administration proposal to include an exemption and fee-waiver package for workforce and affordable housing in an omnibus referral to the Planning Board and City Commission.
Tom (staff) said the administration will present a larger omnibus referral to the commission on June 22 that will include the workforce and affordable-housing exemption discussed in the Land Use memo. The administration said the package is intended to incentivize workforce and affordable-housing projects and move forward fee waivers that could aid projects such as the Collins Park workforce housing project.
A committee member moved and seconded the item; the committee endorsed the inclusion of the fee-waiver/exemption language and concluded the item for committee consideration, noting the package will be processed through Planning Board transmittal and commission readings during the LDR omnibus schedule.
