He also noted the board is empowered to seek a temporary replacement who would serve until an election; he said the board will begin the appointment process and that he will not move until August to allow time for that transition.
Board members thanked him for his service and said they would begin the process to identify and appoint an interim board member. No formal board vote was recorded on the resignation at the meeting; the item was announced and the board discussed next steps for recruitment and appointment.
