The Finance Committee approved two water-related budget actions: a $25,000 fluoridation grant acceptance and a $50,089 change order payment for the campus-area booster pump station project.
Miss Standridge told the committee that the water and sewer department received a state fluoridation grant to purchase a fluoride tank; the total grant amount discussed on the record was corrected to $25,000. "This is another grant that was received, by the water and sewer department for, as a fluoridation grant to be able to purchase a fluoride tank from the state's, Department of Environmental Management. The total amount is... 25,000," Miss Standridge said.
Separately, the committee approved the 2023 SRF (drinking water) item to fund a $50,089 change order for the campus-area booster pump station project. Miss Standridge said the change order will be paid by closing out several smaller project balances, including Ed Love plant distribution systems instrumentation and other instrumentation upgrades, and pulling an unencumbered amount from the Ed Love raw water upgrade phase 1 project. City staff also said the booster pump station project is about six months from completion and that a construction contingency remains in place.
Mr. Gurney, on request, described operational status and said he did not expect surprises given the project stage and existing contingency funds.
Both items were approved by voice vote.
