The Chippewa County Board of Supervisors voted 16–4 on March 11 to appoint Andrew Alvarado as the county administrator, effective April 28, 2025. The employment agreement sets an annual starting salary of $150,000 and runs through Dec. 31, 2027.
The resolution approving the appointment and employment agreement was forwarded to the board by the executive committee. During the meeting several supervisors who participated in the interviews expressed support and emphasized a team-based approach to onboarding the new administrator.
Alvarado addressed the board briefly after the vote, asked to be called "Andy," and said he had already begun knowledge transfer meetings with the outgoing administrator and key staff. He said his early priorities include meeting department heads, building relationships with the county board, and learning local priorities to "hit the ground running."
