Resident urges council to address residential outdoor storage rules during public comment

Ross said she has observed numerous properties with outdoor storage throughout the city and asked council to consider differences among property types — from estate-sized parcels to starter homes — when evaluating ordinance standards and enforcement. “I’m here today to talk to you about residential outside storage,” Ross said. She asked council to consider conversations with staff about outdoor storage, trash and screening in residential areas and offered to share photographs with staff.
Ross noted the city’s comprehensive plan and an upcoming Tomball celebration as context for discussing neighborhood character. Her comments were made during the public-comment period; staff or council did not take action during the meeting but the mayor invited future discussion and potential staff follow-up.
