Commission promotes Michael Iverson to county IT director

Pennington County commissioners on March 18 approved the promotion of Michael (Mike) Iverson to the county information technology director position, effective March 30, 2025.
Carol Bancroft, human resources director, told the board Iverson was the recommended internal candidate following interviews and recommended placing him on the wage scale at P-51, step 5, with biweekly pay of $4,201.60. Bancroft said the county’s promotion policy allows up to a 10% increase at promotion and that the recommended step keeps the appointment within policy. Bancroft also said the Commission could consider additional compensation based on Iverson’s performance during the first 12 months.
Commissioner Drews moved to approve the appointment; Commissioner Rosknecht seconded. The motion carried by voice vote. The board thanked outgoing leadership and welcomed Iverson to the director role.
No additional personnel changes or salary adjustments were made at the meeting beyond the approved appointment.
