Maria (project presenter) told the board the original construction budget was $6,057,304; the credit reflects lower-than-expected material costs, completion two months ahead of schedule, and returned contingency and allowances. She said the team purchased some materials in advance and stored them on site, and that contractor Boyd Jones was off-site sooner than planned, producing savings.
Maria also said an outstanding professional-services invoice of $88,349.56 had been submitted and will be reimbursed; once processed, the budget reconciles to the reduced contract total. Board members asked whether the remaining funds are restricted; staff said the reduced contract is a contract reduction rather than a credit tied to specific funding such as ARPA and that the funds remain in the county’s land fund.
Members commended the project team. A motion to approve the change order passed by voice vote.
