Planning staff and the Planning Commission presented three items to the council and recommended public hearing dates in April.
Bynum Walter of Planning and Development reviewed the Commission's recommendations. The rezoning on Creedmoor Road (OX to CX, with an increase in height) and a Top Green Community Center rezoning (to remove a neighborhood conservation overlay district to enable a city community center) were scheduled for public hearings on April 15. The city also proposed text changes to clarify townhouse building‑type definitions (noting townhouses may be on a single lot or multiple townhouse building types on a single lot); Planning Commission recommended approval and the text-change public hearing was scheduled for the evening meeting on April 1.
Council approved scheduling the hearings by voice vote. The Commission had recommended approval for the Creedmoor and Top Green items and for the townhouse text changes; the public hearings will allow neighbors and interested parties to comment before final action.
Ending: Staff and the Planning Commission will proceed with the scheduled public hearings in April; the council will hear public testimony at those meetings before making final zoning determinations.
