The Dome Civic and Convention Center director, Ms. Chavez, presented the facility’s annual report on March 18. The report recorded 236 events held at the Dome in the previous year and approximately 23,000 attendees across rentals, conferences and community activities.
Ms. Chavez noted the Dome served as a distribution point for donations during Borger’s recent wildfire response and that the facility functions as a regional meeting venue for emergency-management partners. She highlighted upcoming uses including a regional financial boot camp and the returning BoomTown Comic Con, and said the Dome will host a large slate of events during the city’s “big event season.”
Ms. Chavez said the facility’s room usage patterns and attendance demonstrate the Dome’s value as a city asset and invited council members to raise questions.
There was no council action required on the presentation.
