Amherst County museum director reports rising attendance, new exhibits and research finds

Octavia described recent provenance work that led to locating paintings and uncovering family histories. She said museum staff traced two paintings to Randolph College and, through outreach, believe they located descendants of a subject in a painting (a child identified as Shirley Temple Turner). She thanked the board for support that helped the museum qualify for loans and curatorial assistance and encouraged supervisors and the public to visit.
