The Montgomery County Council held work sessions on a broad set of capital improvement program (CIP) amendments transmitted by the County Executive in mid-March and discussed committee recommendations on several projects across economic development, culture and recreation, transportation, public safety, and health and human services.
White Oak Science Gateway and life-science centers: The Economic Development Committee recommended amendments that accelerate the White Oak Science Gateway Redevelopment Project timeline, concentrating much of the work into FY26 and aiming to complete the project by FY28. Staff said the change reflects progress by the development team and coordination with GSA and county planning. The committee also endorsed funding for life-science and technology centers; staff noted a $1 million reduction in expected state aid for incubator upgrades.
