The Casa Grande City Council on March 17 approved a resolution authorizing submission of Proposition 202 grant applications to the Gila River Indian Community, reappointed two retirement-board members to terms ending April 4, 2029, and adopted routine minutes, claims and consent items during a regularly scheduled meeting.
The council voted unanimously to adopt Resolution No. 5759, which authorizes city staff to submit Proposition 202 grant applications on behalf of community organizations and city departments, to accept awarded funds, execute contracts with the Gila River Indian Community, disperse funds, and transfer budget authority as necessary. City staff told the council that, since 2018, the Gila River Indian Community has provided $1,662,332 to Casa Grande; the city has received $1,226,405 and $435,927 remains available to distribute to nonprofit organizations.
