Arcadia students showcase Titan TV, theater awards and culinary program at district board meeting

Student leaders from Arcadia High School gave a presentation at the Greece Central School District board meeting highlighting the high school's student-led programs, recent theater recognitions and a newly certified culinary program.
The student presenters described daily home-base broadcasts produced by Titan TV, a student crew of about 30 who live-stream morning shows and produce regular segments, including “What’s Up with Wroziniak,” a weekly recognition of staff and students. "I am Fabrizio Rivas on-site at the Greece Central School School District Boardroom to talk about some excellent things happening at Arcadia High School," one student said during the presentation.
The students also recounted recent successes in theater. Arcadia’s production of Into the Woods won awards in the area’s Stars of Tomorrow competition; students explained the program’s adjudication and noted Arcadia’s opportunity to send students to the RBTL’s NYC-bound event. A student clarified that one peer, Ian Royce, won NYC Bound (not the national Jimmy Awards) and traveled to New York as part of that recognition.
Student journalists described the Titan Times, the school newspaper, and a math team report noted a February meet win in Division 2 with a team score of 36 points; the team planned to compete at Nazareth University in the county meet. Presenters also announced a student-run restaurant and that the Arcadia culinary room has been certified as a business. "We actually, great news, we were just certified as a, as a business over in the Arcadia culinary room," the culinary teacher said, and students reported having catered a recent banquet and begun a Wegmans internship partnership.
Students described cultural and community events, including a Taste of Soul Black History Month celebration run in partnership with community schools. Presenters embedded video links in their slides for board members to view later and concluded by inviting the board to sample food prepared by culinary students.
Board members thanked the students and complimented the food samples. The presentation closed with the students noting additional materials and links in their slideshow and saying, "We hope you take some time to review them and discover what it means to be a Titan."
