Coos Bay council appoints four to Parks Commission, fills one short term

The Coos Bay City Council voted to appoint four people to the Parks Commission during the council’s action items. The council approved Jared Schmidt to fill a seat with a term ending Dec. 31, 2026, and appointed Patrick Bringer, Patty Scott and Harv to seats with terms ending Dec. 31, 2028.

Nicole (city staff) gave a short overview of the openings, saying there were four vacancies — one to fill a shorter unexpired term and three full terms — and reviewed the qualifications the city seeks for the commission, including park-relevant experience and a planning-commission representative. "What you are being asked tonight is to make a selection of 4 candidates to be seated on the parks commission," Nicole said.
