Park staff propose small equipment purchases for road fixes and confirm water-quality sampling partnership

Staff raised road-maintenance and water-quality items during the Parks update. Park staff said County Highway crews do substantial work but that a small spreader for a pickup and a blade attachment for the county payloader could let parks crews make quicker localized repairs to steep or problem areas rather than waiting for highway crews to respond.
Staff described existing equipment that has been leased from local associations — a 1990 F-800 dump/plow truck that is rarely used and a payloader with a snowblower attachment. The association lease and equipment status are under discussion; staff said they will coordinate with County Highway and with Dennis (county materials contact) before purchasing any materials or attachments.
On water quality, staff reported they met the soil conservation district and that the district's new hire, Colin King, will help with lake sampling at Epping Springbrook Dam and Blacktail Dam. State personnel will provide training dates and staff will continue sampling at both lakes.
No board action was taken; staff will pursue equipment options with county highway and the Blacktail Dam Association and will continue coordinating water sampling with the soil conservation district.
