Elections director reports 3,461 ballots cast (3.13% turnout), outlines staffing, site changes and audit date

Elections Director Tate Fall told the Cobb County Board of Elections on March 17 that 3,461 voters cast ballots in the March 11 special primary runoff, a turnout of 3.13 percent. The count included 1,977 ballots cast on election day, 1,443 early in-person votes and 35 absentee-by-mail ballots; six provisional ballots were recorded.

The director said a risk-limiting audit is scheduled for March 18 at 9 a.m. at the elections office and that the audit is open to the public with a designated public viewing area. Fall said the office is finishing payroll for poll workers; once those checks are issued the office will complete a full costing for the election and provide that cost information to the board and to anyone who submits an open-records request.
