Wright County commissioners approve multiple contracts, grant resolutions and property purchase; several items discussed for follow-up

The Wright County Board of Commissioners on March 18 approved multiple contracts and grant resolutions, adopted ways-and-means recommendations for a household hazardous waste project, and authorized a purchase agreement for a building used by county tenants. Commissioners also discussed but did not adopt a resolution to restrict lease payments from a nature‑based school; staff will return with revised language.

The board voted unanimously to approve an emergency management performance grant resolution and to enter a cooperative agreement with the City of Buffalo on the government center property sale. The board awarded annual roadwork contracts for pavement striping and seal coat, approved two MnDOT detour agreements tied to highway work, and adopted a resolution to pursue a grant for the Crow River Regional Trail Segment B. After a closed-session discussion, the board approved entering a purchase agreement for 311 Brighton Avenue, Buffalo, at $1,150,000 and to begin a 90‑day due diligence period; that motion passed four to one.
